It removes the need to upload private files to a remote server for format conversion, eliminating privacy risk and the friction of creating accounts for simple conversion tasks.
FileOnTap is a web application that performs image and PDF conversions directly in the user's browser. The tool loads the selected file into JavaScript, uses built‑in codecs and the Canvas or PDF.js libraries to decode the source format and re‑encode it to the target format, then offers the result for download. Because all processing happens client‑side, no data leaves the device and no server‑side storage is required. Converters are organized by source and target types, covering HEIC‑to‑JPG, WebP‑to‑PNG, JPG‑to‑PDF, PDF‑to‑JPG, image compression and PDF compression. Each converter can display original and output sizes and allows quality adjustments for lossy formats. The workflow is select file, optionally set quality, click convert, and download the output, all without an account.
