Typing long emails, messages and notes is slow, and most voice typing tools send your recordings to a server. Yap Voice Typing lets you speak into any text box in the browser and keeps your voice on your own computer.
Yap Voice Typing is a free browser extension for Chrome and Firefox: type with your voice in any text box on the web. Click into a text field, press Alt+Shift+Y (or click the Yap icon) and talk; your words are typed where the cursor is, in email, search, chat, notes and documents. OpenAI's Whisper speech-to-text model runs inside your browser, so your voice is never uploaded: no server, no account, no analytics. English or any of 99 languages, capitals and punctuation added, filler words removed, works offline after a one-time download of about 80 MB.
